The craft department has been established for ten years and has become one of the leading haberdashery shops in the area. Our customers travel the length and breadth of the country to visit. It is a veritable treasure trove of colourful fabrics - continually changing patchwork cottons from Moda, Rowan, Makower, Fabric Freedom, Timeless Treasures, Michael Miller and Indonesian Batiks to name but a few. We stock a good selection of cotton and polyester wadding as well as the tools needed for quilting and patchwork. We stock a variety of dress fabrics, fabrics for dance, and many different fabrics for costumes, for school, etc.. There is also a selection of fleece, furs, and dress nets, organzas, Aida and other fabrics for needlepoint projects. Also in stock are a variety of cross-stitch, long stitch, tapestry and needlepoint kits. We have a fabulous array of machine and hand sewing threads, cottons, polyester, rayon, metallic, perle - and all in vibrant colours to make your mouth water! Threads are from Madeira, YLI, Coats, Gutermann, and Finca. We have a bountiful supply of ribbons, feathers, flowers, braids, buttons and beads to tantalise the taste buds in a rainbow of exquisite colours. There are five members of staff who have a wealth of knowledge, from dress making to patchwork quilts, from jewellery to cross stitch, and much, much more.

meet the manager
Bridget Jones has been the manager of the craft department for the past six years. She is pleased to have been part of its growth and is very proud that it has blossomed into an exciting and versatile department.
She started her journey with City Cycle Centre about sixteen years ago in the toy department. The opportunity then arose for her to manage the craft department and she took this on board with great enthusiasm, which continues today.
Bridget's passion is to make the craft department as colourful and interesting as possible, filled with new ideas to inspire all those "crafty" people out there. She wants her customers to be enthralled by the diversity of products available and to leave the department with excitement and renewed inspiraton. Bridget finds it very gratifying to hear and see what customers are doing, and what they have achieved with the products they've bought. She enjoys the fulfilment that they bring.
